Golf Course Update

a)

Pathway between 4^th & 5^th  - Being reinstated and filled for smoother maintainable surface.

b)

New path to be built around the back and left side of the 6^th tee  - To bring golfer around the tee rather than straight over it. The path will be well drained and built from the same gravel as the path by the 3^rd tee.

c)

Bunker Repair – RW reported that 6 bunkers had been successfully repaired through the winter. 

d)

Sinking tees – RW to include in future improvements.

e)

Stones in bunkers – RW to monitor.

f)

Bunker bike – RW reported all staff are trained in bunker bike operation, therefore improvement to smoothness in bunkers should be noticed shortly.

g)

New Tee – February, 2009, is the target date to start building Phase 1 of new tee. Phase 2 will be the rescuplting of the fairway and greenside bunkers.

h)

Hollow Coring – commencing 5^th April, 2009.

Any Other Business

a)

RW to ensure holes are cut for competitions and confirmed that holes should be moved every weekend, weather permitting.

Committee requested that the car park near the club house to be kept exclusively for members once the hotel is opened. No decision made to date.

Show-round of hotel to Committee  & Members - Reception 12^th May, 2009.

Brasserie – JS addressed the mixed reaction from the members to the refurbishment and explained the new commercial direction of the Brasserie. Members still welcome to use the Members’ Bar area if preferred.   JS with F&B Manager to ensure table service is swifter and further training is incorporated.

Members fee increase – JS explained that the increase of £50 per annum for membership fees was not excessive and reported that direct costs in maintenance had gone up substantially. JS to look at the wording of the renewal letter for 2010/11.
