Bowood Hotel and Bowood House host a wide variety of events and activities across the year – from face painting, treasure trails and half term fun at the House, to Sunday Caveries, literary afternoon teas and sparkling festive parties. Misty and Patches are leaving us today! - Wed 15th May 2013
We are sad to say a big goodbye to Misty and Patches who will be leaving us today to go out to the fields to grow up.
They will be replaced in the barn by two little boy Belgian Blue calves. We will let you know their names when they have arrived.

Tractor Ted's Big Machines - Sat 18th May 2013
18th and 19th May 2013
Come and see a wide range of brand new farm machinery on show, such as huge new tractors, a telehandler which is used for loading, a range of farm implements such as the plough, drill and cultivator, a muck spreader and even quad bikes to sit on!
Visitors can then climb aboard for a tractor and trailer ride, around the Bowood Estate pulled by a brand new massive horse-powered Claas tractor where you can join in the 'Eye-Spy Farming' game on your way. You may be able to spot sheep, deer and even pheasants.
After this, why not visit Tractor Ted’s Little Farm to meet lots of young farm animals such as chicks, piglets, lambs and calves before petting some of the tame rabbits and guinea pigs. Outside there is a fun tractor track to ride on and ride on diggers to scoop with.
Also included in you admission ticket is access to the amazing adventure playground and beautiful House and Gardens.

Bowood’s Botanical Heritage Exhibition - Mon 20th May 2013
Following their success of our 2012 ‘Plants in the Park’ exhibition, held in conjunction with the Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institution (BRLSI), Lord Lansdowne invited members of the Bath Society of Botanical Artists, to produce an exhibition of botanical illustrations from the Bowood Estate,
The Bath Society of Botanical Artist's exhibition will be held in the Bowood House Orangery throughout the open season and will include illustrations of specimens from the important collection of Rhododendrons, as well as plants from the walled garden and the extensive arboretum.
The exhibition runs during the whole of Bowood's open season: 20 March - 5 November 2013.

Stunning Rhododendron Walks - Thu 23rd May 2013
This is a spectacular attraction offering breathtaking vistas of colour and beauty covering over 60 acres. This woodland oasis of azaleas, magnolias and rhododendrons is considered to be one of the most exciting gardens of its type in the country; it lies on a seam of green sand running from Poole in Dorset to The Wash on the East Coast.
If you are interested in keeping up to date with which species are flowering, please visit the The Garden Diary, written by Lord Lansdowne.
The Rhododendron Walks are expected to stay open until Sunday 16th June 2013 (according to flowering season).

Bowood Charity Dog Show and Summer Fair - Sun 09th June 2013
The Bowood Charity Dog Show & Summer Fair takes place from 10am to 5pm, raising funds for local charities.

This year the Show is featuring the Tractor Ted Farm Show.

Triathlon - Sun 30th June 2013
Join Events Logic at Bowood for an exciting Triathlon, which takes in all the sites through Bowood Estate
Event Format
The swim will take place in the fresh water private lake set in the lower part of Bowood Estate. You will enter the water on the pontoon and start between the marked buoys, and swim around the set course. The exit will be on the pontoon, which leads into a sloping climb towards transition. Transition will be located on the finely manicured lawns and under the shadows of Bowood House. Racking will be numbered according to waves. The cycle route will take you into the 'wilder' parts of Bowood Estate, looping around the grounds past Bowood Golf Course, Osprey Farm, and including Lord Lansdownes' private driveway, which is inhabited with game fowl. Once completing the cycle stage, you will head out on a picturesque run around the estate, taking in stunning scenery of Bowood Lake, The Cascade Waterfall and The Doric Temple. On completion of the lap, the finish line will be near transition.

For all spectators to the event, to gain entry into the grounds, there are admission fees. These fees are set by Bowood and there will be no exceptions. If you are competing, you will gain free access into the grounds with you race number. There are fantastic facilities for children, in the adventure playground and softplay area.

Wiltshire Game and Country Fair - Sat 28th September 2013

The Wiltshire Game and Country Fair graces the magnificent grounds of the Bowood Estate, for the 7th time in succession.
The Falconry Village has native and some more exotic Birds of Prey, all waiting for the chance to stretch their wings and fly! The Craft Village comes complete with a working demonstration, beautiful contemporary and traditional arts and crafts. Food Glorious Food is perfect for food lovers. Chefs cook up some tasty delights and regional producers sell delicous food and drink.
Children can throw a pot and make a face or 'Learn How To' fish with the Angling Trust, handle a gundog and get close to a hawk. More traditional children's entertainment is included.
The show's arenas are encompassed by an array of country and craft stalls, selling everything from country clothing and accessories to handcrafted art and regional food and drink.
And take time to relax in the Piazza with its British favourites, tasty treats and healthy options.
